The new IS 1786-2008 grade D (ductile) standards apply to all SAIL TMT bars. SAIL TMT Bar main Feactures are-Bond Strength: All SAIL TMT bars have been examined at the National Test House in Alipore, Kolkata, and found to fulfill IS 1786-2008 standards. Weldability: SAIL TMT bars can be welded perfectly using standard welding techniques and the appropriate electrodes. They can also be welded without being preheated, ideally with a low hydrogen electrode. The Welding Research Institute in Trichy has evaluated and approved the weldability of SAIL TMT bars. Bendability: As per IS 1786-2008, Grade D standard, all SAIL TMT bars have a smaller bend diameter than the required bend diameter. This enables for easier bending with less effort, making worksite work easier. Fire Resistance: When enclosed in concept, all SAIL TMT bars can endure a fire threat up to 600 degrees Celsius, whereas regular TMT begins to lose its mechanical qualities at 250 degrees Celsius. SAIL TMT is also available in a corrosion-resistant variant (HCR), which has improved chemical compositions to provide increased resistance to seismic and corrosive air conditions.
